Attention to detail: A very special funeral
When we set out to support families through our Rest Assured service, we never just arrange funerals — we help honour lives in ways that truly reflect the people they were. From registering the death, to selecting suitable floral arrangements and memory provoking music.
Recently, we had the privilege of arranging a funeral for one of our clients, a truly special individual who had touched many hearts. Sadly, his brother and father had both passed before him so there was no family left to arrange matters. It was only after his passing, we discovered he was a huge fan of the musical Wicked. This was more than just his favourite show—it was his world. In fact, he had visited London 196 times, just to take his seat in the Apollo Theatre.
Inspired by this, we transformed the funeral into a heartfelt Wicked-themed farewell. With the help of his friends, we selected green and black floral arrangements, Wicked themed music, a Wicked themed plaque with his name on, set up for all donations to go Good Theatre Works for children, this all echoed his love for the story. In addition, we made a special effort to ensure this client had his wishes met, to be resting back in the same spot as his brother and father.
Afterwards, his friends reached out to us, saying it was exactly what he would have wanted—an authentic celebration of the man they loved. For us at Enable and Thrive, that meant everything. Because in honouring his story, we helped everyone find comfort and closure.
At Enable and Thrive, it’s not just about arranging funerals. It’s about crafting meaningful goodbyes that enable healing and help lives thrive — even after loss.
A big thank you goes to Reynolds Funeral Service, it has been a pleasure working alongside you to give our client the send off he deserves.
